Negative Space photography

Negative space is the area that surrounds the main subject of your photo. So an example would be a picture of a person against the sky. The person would be the positive space and the sky would be the negative space. In photography there are 3 aspects in negative space. There is the frame, the positive space, and the negative space. Negative space defines and emphasizes the main subject of the photo. It also adds interest to the photograph. Negative space relates to photography because it helps balance your photos. When taking a negative space photo it helps if you focus less on the subject and more on the background. Negative space also helps add much more focus and emotion to your photo as well. When using negative space, it is usually the technique used to make a picture a silhouette. However, negative space usually is a neutral background so your attention is drawn directly to the subject of the photos.
