ISO
ISO is an acronym for International Standards Organization. When you take a photo you must determine if you would like your photo grainy or no grain. If you want a grainy photo you must make the ISO higher like 1600. If you would like know grain in your photo set the ISO to 100. On the Nikon D3000 camera there are 3 different ISO settings. If you are shooting outdoors and it is sunny set the ISO between 100 and 200. If you are shooting indoors or at sunset and sunrise set the ISO between 400 and 800. And if you shoot at night set the ISO to 1600 or HI1. When determining what your ISO should be set to there are 4 questions you should ask yourself. One, what is the light like? Two, do I want a noise/grainy picture? Three, do I need to use a tripod? And finally four, is the subject moving or stationary?

Complimentary Colors
The definition of a complimentary color is a color directly opposite another on a color wheel and providing the greatest chromatic contrast to it. When complimentary colors are used in photography it creates a dramatic contrast which intrigues the person looking at the photograph. Picking a dominate color then picking the color which compliments it, draws attention to the main point in the photo. Photographs become more appealing when the viewer sees something that draws them in right away, which is what complimentary colors do. The complimentary colors on the color wheel are Red and Green, Blue and Orange, and Yellow and Purple.
Color Theory
On the shoulder of Giants.
The different color values of this painting are mostly dark colors. The red colors in this painting are a dark red and a bright red. The greens are mostly the dark lime green color and the darker green. And the oranges are the lighter colors in the picture. The darker of the oranges is more of a light orange. And the lighter one is more yellowish than orange. The hues in this picture are reds, greens, and oranges. The red and orange colors are analogous, which means they are next to each other on the color wheel. But the red and green colors are complimentary of each other, which means they are opposite on the color wheel. I think the artist used these colors to compose the picture by having the oranges stand out against the red and greens. Also because there is only a little bit of green in the picture the color really stands out.
Photography Reflection
So far this term in photography I have learned so much. Before I started this class I didn’t know much about taking pictures. Now I know how to properly take a photo. I have learned how to adjust the amount of light that each picture needs. I have also learned different ways to take a photo such as rule of thirds and depth of fields. I really liked shooting depth of fields. I loved how you could really focus on the subject of the photo and not everything else in the background. My favorite assignment so far was the light graffiti. I was so amazed when the pictures turned out. I never knew you could draw a picture with a flashlight and capture it with a camera. We have also learned how to use all the tools in Photoshop. When we did the tutorials in Photoshop my favorite one was the fire text. I also really enjoyed doing the freeze frame photos. It was so cool when we would catch people jumping in the air or the water splashing everywhere. So far this term I have really enjoyed photography and I know I will enjoy whatever else that comes next to learn.

The History of Photography
History of Photography
The definition of photography is the art, hobby, or profession of taking photographs, and developing and printing the film or processing the digitalized array image. Photography has two root words “photo” and “graphy”. The definition of photo is, an image produced on light-sensitive film or array inside a camera, especially a print or slide made from the processed image, or a reproduction in a newspaper, magazine, or book. The definition of graphy is writing or representation of a subject or an object. The first pinhole camera was invented in the Middle Ages about 1000 AD. Louis Daquerre was the inventor of the first practical way of photography. In 1827 Joseph Nicephore Niepce made the first photographic image with a camera obscura.in 1861 a Scottish physicist James Clerk-Maxwell demonstrates a color photography system involving three black and white photographs, each taken through a red, green, or blue filter. The photos were turned into lantern slides and projected in registration with the same color filters. This is the "color separation" method. There are many types of photography. Some include architectural, food, seascape, travel, wildlife, underwater, pet and wedding.
